USBASP Programmer with 10-pin cable and 6-Pin Adapter

The USBASP is a high-speed programmer for AVR microcontrollers. Using the 10-pin cable and/or the included 10-to-6 pin adapter provided, connect the USBASP to your target board to download your program into the MCU

The programmer plugs straight into an available USB-A connector on your PC or hub

Jumper Configuration

JP1: Place a jumper on JP1 if you want to update the firmware of the USBASP programmer
JP21: Target Board Vcc: When placed on the right, the USBASP supplies 5V to the target board on the programming header. When placed on the left, it supplies 3.3V to the target. When removed, the target board must be powered through some other source
JP3: Slow SCK (this jumper has no pins), used for initial programming of certain blank devices

Please note that the programming signals from the USBASP are always at the 5V level, even if 3.3V is selected for VCC. It is therefore recommended to use this device for 5V MCUs only.

Programming Arduino Bootloader

The USBASP can program the Arduino Bootloader into compatible AVR MCUs by using the Arduino IDE: From the menu, select Tools => Burn Bootloader => USBasp

ATmega Series: ATmega8, ATmega16, ATmega32, ATmega48, ATmega88, ATmega168, ATmega328 / ATmega328P (used in Arduino Uno/Nano), ATmega128, ATmega1284P, ATmega2560, and other classic/CAN/PWM variants.
ATtiny Series: ATtiny11, ATtiny13, ATtiny25, ATtiny45, ATtiny85, ATtiny2313, and related small-footprint chips.
AT90 Series: AT90S2313, AT90S8515, AT90S8535, AT90CAN, and AT90PWM
